As our babies grow, each milestone happens all too quickly. So you’ll want to celebrate each new first. And then cry. And then celebrate some more. So while you may be mourning a little, at least your photos will be cute and your memories vivid.
1. Milestone blocks
Chalk is still on-trend for home design and photo props. We don’t think the craze will be going away anytime soon, so capture all of your little’s firsts with this super cute photo prop. Write the milestone (first word, first steps, first tooth), snap a pic!
2. Holiday cuteness
With each holiday, go ahead and splurge just a little bit on that holiday-centric outfit. Sure, your little one won’t be able to wear it long and once the holiday is over, it doesn’t make sense to keep wearing it, but that’s okay: holidays are a big deal. And your baby’s first one? A really big deal! So put ’em in that outfit and take a picture you’ll be excited to save. Bonus: create a personalized keepsake and you’ll have it forever.
3. The first-year growth
I’m a sucker for all of those monthly photos that show our babe’s growth and development! Use monthly stickers on a simple outfit, a monthly growth chart blanket, or the same stuffed animal next to them each photo to dramatically show how much your baby is changing.
4. A keepsake box
Create a safe place to store all of those milestone moment memories! A favorite outfit or christening shoes, a lock of hair from the first haircut, and photos can all fit into a keepsake box, and reminiscing as you go through it with your little one as they grow is so much fun.
Mom tip: Start with an unfinished wooden box and customize with your babe’s handprints!
5. A book of firsts
Baby books are a classic for a reason…they just don’t go out of style. For the busy, on-the-go mom (aren’t we all these days?!), start with a pre-made book and add your photos and captions. If you’re not the DIY type, just upload your images and have a photo book for baby’s first year or another milestone delivered to your doorstep.
6. DIY prints
Currently, there are about a million images sitting in my phone’s camera roll (okay, maybe not quite that many!). Since our phones and tablets are with us more often than our cameras are, it makes sense that we end up capturing many firsts with our phones. With the technology available today, though, we don’t have to keep it that way! Print your favorites by having a digital bluetooth photo printer at your fingertips as well.
A plus? These prints can also be used as stickers!
7. Wall art
What to do with all of those photos you’ve been saving on your hard drive? Print them out to create some wall art! There are plenty of frames that outline baby’s first year and their milestones to make it easy to fill in. Or you can even print images as squares and create your own art, like this heart shaped artwork we made from square photos.
Like my suggestions? All of these can be made a reality with a trip to Walmart and Walmart.com. Easy peasy.
