When You Know, You Know: Brittany Thompson and Gregg Vickers Quickly Find Forever After Swiping Right

Despite knowing early-on in their relationship that they had found the one, Brittany Thompson and Gregg Vickers wanted to be in a relationship for a full year before getting engaged. So exactly a year and two weeks after they started dating, Gregg popped the question at Fort Worth’s Reata on the rooftop bar.

The pair found each other the new-fashioned way: on Bumble. And though their meet-cute was less than traditional, their wedding proved to be just that. The pair wed on May 25, 2019, at Park Cities Baptist and decided against a first look, leading to Brittany’s most cherished memory of the day.

“We chose not to see each other before the ceremony, and it made it that much more exciting finally getting to stand beside each other after so much anticipation. I’m not sure that we heard a word that the pastor said because we were just so elated to finally be there,” Brittany says. “We were squeezing each other’s hand so tightly and giggling because it was so hard not to be able to talk to each other before saying our vows.”

After becoming man and wife, Brittany and Gregg took their celebrations to Arlington Hall where they tented the exterior area overlooking Turtle Creek. They filled the space with jewel tones and wildflowers, creating an elegant party with an outdoorsy twist.

Emerald City Band set the soundtrack for the night and kept guests captivated until the newly-weds surprised everyone with a fireworks show, celebrating their love and the Memorial Day weekend. “It gave Gregg and me a moment to stand alone with each other,” Brittany reminisces. “We really just soaked in the night.”
