Your wedding day goes by in a flash. Thankfully, your wedding photographer is there to capture all the magical moments. Here are a few of our recent favorites and what you can learn from each one.
Madison Zeinert & Drew Sleezer
May 18, 2024
“This wedding day was unbelievably hot—one of those days where the heat is almost surreal,” remembers photographer Stephanie Brazzle about Madison Zeinert and Drew Sleezer’s celebration at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. Fortunately the bride came prepared: Guests received paper fans, while she and her bridesmaids toted parasols—which, Madison admits, were as much for looks as they were for function. “I saw them in photos of other weddings early on in my planning timeline and knew I wanted some,” she explains. Stephanie waited until sunset, when the heat had abated, to capture these shots of the ladies. “As we headed down to the water, they broke into a spontaneous, celebratory dance, delighted by the cooler air,” Stephanie recalls. “I just couldn’t resist shouting, ‘Spin, ladies, spin!’ They twirled, and I snapped away, catching this perfect moment of pure joy.” —Jessica Otte
The takeaway: Forget forced smiles and on-camera awkwardness! Having pretty props like parasols encourages playfulness—meaning you’ll have more genuine moments immortalized.
Callie Lee & Matt Domagala
May 4, 2024
Callie Lee credits her wedding photographer, Lyndi Stucky, for making all her “Gray Malin dreams come true” with this poolside shot, taken alongside her bridesmaids prior to meeting Matt Domagala at the altar. “Lyndi brilliantly captured my avid obsession with the color combination of blue and white,” says Callie. “The shade of the bridesmaid robes perfectly complemented the shade of the pool, balanced with the white beach chairs.” The bride credits her calm demeanor to her planner, Leslie Ochs of Alice and Apricot. “This encapsulates exactly how I felt on my wedding day—no stress or crises to attend to,” Callie says. “This picture screams, ‘Hire the wedding planner so your wedding day could feel like this!’ ”

Emma Golik & Spencer Harper
June 29, 2024
When history students Emma Golik and Spencer Harper first started dating, they bonded over their shared major and love of studying the past. So having their wedding at the George W. Bush Presidential Library just made sense. “It was not only a nod to our Texas roots but our love for history,” says the bride. After a private cocktail hour, the newlyweds were whisked away to the library’s Oval Office for a fun photo op. “This photo captured Spencer and I making ‘presidential calls’ on the phone, which was a hilarious moment we shared together that I will never forget,” says Emma. “Spencer never fails to make me laugh, and it was the perfect way to kick off the first hour of being husband and wife before we partied the night away!”

The takeaway: For a perfectly personalized celebration, find moments that speak to who you and your partner are as a couple.
Lynden Orr & Luke Halbert
April 29, 2023
When Luke Halbert tells the story of how he and Lynden Orr fell in love, it always begins with his seeing her sing on stage in their seventh grade talent show. “He says he came home and told his mom he’d seen an angel!” says Lynden. A week before their spring wedding in Boerne, Texas, Lynden had the idea to make a grand entrance after she changed into her second look. “I came on stage, singing ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,’ ” remembers the bride of the sweet nod to their love story’s origin. “The look of surprise and excitement on Luke’s face was priceless!”

The takeaway: Incorporating wedding-day surprises for your spouse-to-be can make for extra special memories you’ll cherish for years to come.
Olivia Barnes & Jack Leonhard
April 20, 2024
They say no party is complete without a confetti drop. At least, we say that. But without a doubt, incorporating a memorable finale to your big day is the perfect way to end your night with a bang. At the conclusion of their Thompson Dallas wedding, an overjoyed (and maybe exhausted) Olivia Barnes and Jack Leonhard made happy snow angels amid the confetti that had rained down over the dance floor moments before. “This was the calm after the amazing party of a lifetime for these two!” says planner Leslie Ochs. “At the end of the night, Olivia said, ‘I kind of just want to lay in the confetti,’ and that’s exactly what they did!”
Planner: Alice and Apricot; Photographer: The Lockharts
The takeaway: Want to jump in the pool or take a bite straight out of your cake? It’s your day—live it up accordingly!
