How Do I Preserve My Wedding Bouquet?

I’m interested in preserving my bouquet following my wedding. Is that something my florist can help me with?

Expert: Mark Sullivan of Cebolla Fine Flowers

Depending on the types of flowers, one of the best ways to preserve your bouquet is to hang it upside down to keep the stems straight and simply air dry in a temperate dark zone in your home, like a hall closet. Once the bouquet is completely dried, a polyurethane spray can be applied to seal and protect the flowers from shattering. Freeze-drying is still available by some floral companies around the country but is a very costly and time-consuming process, and the results aren’t much different—maybe a bit of color is better preserved in this process. Roses are still the best flowers to dry.
