Lela Rose designs bridal for the elegant hostess who can always be found at the center of the dance floor. Each collection emulates a laid-back confidence and relaxed sophistication you can only assume Lela lives out in her day-to-day life. Known for being a hostess extraordinaire (she’s from Texas, after all), it’s become a bit of a tradition for Lela to give guests a breath of fresh, garden air in the midst of Bridal Fashion Week chaos. This fall, Lela invited guests to enter the Jefferson Market Garden iron gates, weave through a stone path blooming in fall floral, and enter a garden tea party decorated with ladies in white. Models stood twirling bridal parasols, others sat at a long, linen covered table set for high tea, and others lounged on garden benches with Rose’s pup, Bobbin.
Her signature lace designs and feminine silhouettes were on display and out to play. The collection was traditionally accessorized with modern elements—like plunging Vs and square necklines. A favorite? A strapless lace sheath decked with an oversized organza bow in the back. The gown became, no doubt, the presentation’s focal point as the party progressed. A long shift dress with an off-the-shoulder tulle neckline might be the perfect rehearsal dinner or reception dress for a bride that wants to add some classy spirit to her wedding day.
