Reem Acra Fall 2019 Bridal ‘Celebration Collection’

The Reem Acra Celebration Collection evoked a cinematic wedding party set in a glamorous fantasy world created by event planner Preston Bailey. Gold-glittered and pink-feathered ready-to-wear gowns opened the show as if wedding guests and bridesmaids flooded the aisle ahead of the bride.  “The idea of creating the world’s most over-the-top, glamorous bridal dinner party was an idea I have wanted to do for years. I loved the idea of combining my ready-to-wear with bridal for the Celebration collection—injecting color and fun into the show,” says Acra.

True to brand, Reem Acra’s bridal gowns were primarily tulle and lace covered in floral applique. The silhouettes pushed traditional and some exuded modern cuts and more dramatic skirts while other standouts exuded royal classics—like the pink-hued ball gown that closed the show. Each dress was slightly hidden behind full-length veils decorated whimsically with flowers reminding us of A Midsummer’s Night Dream. To close the show, models posed around a 32-foot long tableau adorned in elaborate floral sculptures enhancing the dramatic beauty of the Celebration collection.
