I love, love clothes and I’ve always found such a fun, creative outlet in getting dressed each day. The only problem right now? None of my clothes fit!
Needless to say, pregnancy is quite the wardrobe interruption. Getting dressed in your first trimester can be tricky, especially from the first few weeks (when you may not be public with your news) through the time when you’re finally starting to show. I’ve determined there are a few MUST-HAVE outfits I needed for the first two trimesters, and the best part is that I was able to get them all at Target.
1. “I’m not ready to announce” outfit

Your body is definitely changing in the first trimester but maybe you’re not quite ready for other people to notice that. Tops and sweaters that drape and have a little bit of volume are the perfect way to cover a growing waistline.

2. Not quite ready for maternity clothes outfit
Maternity Cold Shoulder Ruffle Dress – Isabel Maternity by Ingrid & Isabel
As you move through the first trimester and into the second you might be coming to the stage when you’re not quite ready for maternity clothes, but your regular clothes are getting a bit too snug. Loose, flowy tops and dresses without waistbands are perfect for staying comfortable all day.
3. The “Is she pregnant?” outfit
Maternity Cozy Wrap Cardigan – Isabel Maternity by Ingrid & Isabel
Probably my least favorite stage, I don’t necessarily look pregnant, just quite a bit thicker in the middle. A long cardigan or wrap is perfect for concealing a growing waistline and can be worn throughout pregnancy. This particular wrap from the Isabel Maternity line at Target will also work as a nursing cover later.
4. Clothing to grow with you

At this point in my second trimester I know my bump is just at the beginning stages. Finding clothing that will grow with me is important so I’m not having to buy new items every few weeks (my bank account can’t handle it!). Items with ruching on the sides or extra material in the waist will grow with my bump into the third trimester, and will still be what I reach for after the baby is born.
From the early weeks through delivery (and after!), it’s easy to stay stylish and comfortable all during your pregnancy.
