Jackie White & Will Ammons
June 28, 2024
Jackie White and Will Ammons met at Will’s first birthday party, became friends as kids while attending Camp Longhorn, and started dating after college. Four years later, Will surprised Jackie twice while on a ski trip to Vail, Colorado—first with a proposal on one of their favorite trails, then by having her family at the bottom of the mountain to celebrate. “He always keeps me on my toes,” Jackie laughs. “He’s the funniest person I’ve ever met.” The pair returned to Colorado for their summertime wedding, which was filled with family touches—and endless joy. Says planner Karli Spangler of Karli Spangler Events, “Jackie wanted something really happy, bright, colorful, and full of fun, because that reflects how they are as a couple.”
I Do With a View
While the bride’s family lives full-time in Dallas, since Jackie and Will’s engagement took place in Colorado, it just made sense for the mountain-loving couple to tie the knot atop one of their favorite peaks in Vail.
Good Day
With a 4:30 p.m. start time, much of the reception occurred in broad daylight—but guests weren’t shy about getting on the dance floor. “They had guests that came ready to party,” says Karli.
Bloom Where You’re Planted
Nicknamed “Mother Tree,” a bright floral tree provided a beautiful centerpiece for the reception’s 360-degree bar. “Flowers were really important,” says Karli. “We kept the ceremony pretty simple to focus on the natural backdrop and the beautiful views, but the color scheme was mostly carried by the flowers.”
